Lexington, KY - With jobs still scarce in some areas, being able to easily earn money from your own home sounds terrific. There's another work-at-home scheme hitting mailboxes in central Kentucky that seems to promise this…
A central Kentucky consumer hoping to earn some money working at home sent your Better Business Bureau the mailing. The print is quite small….but it appears to offer a way to make money by being a Home Based Associate processing their Mortgage Assistance Postcards.
Sounds great…no experience or personal selling necessary! The letter says they will send you 100 postcards and mailing labels for a $90 fee. You write or stamp your 5-digit number on each one, package them up and send them back to the company postage paid. What could be easier?
That's just the problem….it sounds almost too easy. Then MORE fine print states that this is a business opportunity, NOT employment. The company does NOT guarantee any income at all. The only way you get paid is if any consumers respond to the any of the postcards with your number on it…then you get a $50 commission. But what if no one responds? You are out $90…even more if you purchase more postcards to send.
And get THIS…the letter states that the Better Business Bureau has an "extensive reliability report" on the company, also known as Preferred Platinum Services Network in New Jersey. Oh the BBB does, all right…an F rating for the company due to unanswered and unresolved complaints, AND unauthorized use of the BBB name in their mailing in an attempt to gain credibility.
Remember, if a so-called job offer to work at home sounds too good to be true, it usually is….so don't fall for it.
